Describe
your work.
All of my paintings are intimate stories, or paragraphs if you will. Nicely
packaged with hidden meanings in a comfortable pallet.
What’s your take on the climate of the contemporary
art world?
Here in Los angeles, it’s a whirlwind, a rush or a massive storm. It’s
eclectically saturated. I can only hope my work will continue to captivate
and expand with my audience in the realm of modern day surrealists. I haven’t
been too caught up with all that’s brewing out there because the majority
of my time is spent locked up in my studio concentrating on getting paintings
done.
Do you have a specific playlist you listen to while working?
Not necessarily, it depends on my mood. Faster tempo helps keep me going
when I’m working on deeper more personal subject matter. Lately I’ve
found my best work sessions come along with Spoon, Cursive or the Bravery.
and when I’m feeling loved, it’s all about the Nada Surf and
those oldies Enuff Z’nuff. I plan on dedicating myself to more audio
books as well.
Do you work best in the day or night?
The night brings it out in me. daytime has me window gazing, and daydreaming.
feeling the need to be out searching for squirrels and fuzzy friends. I work
around the clock, but at night I can kiss my little girls to sleep
and chain myself to the easel.
